LOL, OK, still mostly a decorator type object! Maybe a TV remote control would be about all that i would use it for.

lol, It's going to sit on top of something & look interesting which is fine however, i don't wanna pay 8 or 10k for an object like that.

True but, it doesn't take many is my problem, just a few will do! Everything that catches my eye, someone else wants more than i do, A LOT MORE!

This is where patience & persistence come in. Take that 1730 W&M gateleg dining table with hand forged butterfly hinges for instance. Before the depression in prices my chances were slim on getting that table so, how did it happen?
There was a HUGE snowstorm on the east coast of USA, not only could people not get online with the then dial-up internet to bid, they didn't have any power at all, no light, no heat.
Who cares about some old crummy table when you are cold & in the dark? NO ONE! Which is how i made off with that table! :joyful::joyful::joyful:

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

"You girls are missing the whole point here, THE HUNT!"

That may be your point James.....but you're missing what's really going on here !

The gals want you to get, find, acquire .... a box that you so badly want.
Your well written & articulated desire, has drawn them in , to a point where they feel your emotional attachment to these items, and are rooting for you to get that which you so long for !!

They wish to help , to see you succeed in your quest.

    That's what's really going on here !

It seems as though you've become part of ...and been accepted into our community....and are being treated as such.

Someone recently said that one can't really know the truth about who's posting here & what they're saying, but reading your posts, it sure seems to me that you are pouring your heart out on the page , with your heart on your sleeve , when you emote about these boxes and unbridled love and affection you have for them.

& the gals here have picked up on that.....& feel for you.....& are showing it !

That's the point here......it goes way beyond just the box !!

    Just my 2 cents !!

I guess but, for me if i got a masterpiece example of an early box tomorrow, there would be a new quest that followed, there will always be another hill to climb! I try to not get personally/emotionally involved with these objects, sometimes it's unavoidable like with ruth's box which has grown to mythical proportions! but generally speaking like with this box yesterday, 5 mins after the sale i am over it and on to the next hill!
I post what i am thinking at the moment about an object that is of interest with as much research as i can find, give it a week, a month and there will be a new interest, a new object a new quest in the works!

    yes...as Spock says......
""... You may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. This is not logical, but it is often true."

Komo is so right James, as I said earlier ''I just wanted you to have a nice box James", and I'm pretty sure that everyone feels the same way. I pour out my feelings here on the board too .. ALL THE TIME, and maybe that isn't a good idea, but don't forget that people DO care and that's a huge part of a womans makeup .. WE CARE James !! we want you to have a nice box .. we wanted you to have the last two boxes !! I'm sure that you will find your box James we are not missing the point .. we just want you to win .. Love Joy.
