Yes, it gives people a sense of who in the hell they are talking too, you know, a name, a face, a real person. That is a major problem with the internet in my view, way to much anonymous interaction. Peeps say things anonymously that they would never say otherwise.

 

I agree......but until we're having a beer together.....it's still the net.

That said...in a closed space like this...you build up trust....& get to know one another......
I've never seen several folks here, whom I'd give the shirt off my back....cuz I know them....from their pain & joy.....but it does take time.....& trust !

 

All that may be true but, one has to be a "regular" for that to happen & pick up things over time.

No, you don't, not really. Another thing the internet misses in my view is, it TOTALLY misses the most important human emotion, intuition, that gut feeling one gets when you look directly into someone's eyes for the first time.

 

& just because we live in the new world order of fake news.....& mistrust....and falsehoods...we're not all like that & don't aspire to be.
Ya gotta remember that those who would spread lies & innuendo ....they've always been with us.....& so have the people who get taken in by the snake charmers & fast talkers.
Nothing new about that.....it just happens at light speed & reaches a wider audience.
But U R right about folks in disguise.....they now feel freer to spout lies, disinformation...& untruths from the shadows, and I attribute that to the other folks....in positions of power , & respect.....who lie like rat bastards.....right into the camera lens !!!

No, I'm sorry.....I've been film flamed by folks who shook my hand...& family I grew up with.....those kinda folks look you in the eye ...and then proceed to lie to your face !....... & they do it with a smile !!!

While here.....like you said...it takes time......but I know...with a certainty....that her legs do bother her when the weather changes...and her sister treats her with no respect....and he loves his animals....and he has seen a lot more in his life than I have....and he works hard like a dog, but has a positive outlook on life....and she struggles to take care of her partner.....and he struggles to take care of his partner....and he was a cop, a soldier, a mailman, a father...and she was a mother, a sister, a wife & a business woman.........and they're all trying to get along as best they can.....and share their humanity with like minded others.....right here !

 

Bottom Line? girls = guys in common everyday speech, those that have a problem with it i don't wanna interact with anyway!
