Featured Sterling Silver Beaker

    Recent win at auction. I think it may be a Kiddush beaker or something like that. Very cute. Has gilt interior and "STG. 925" on base. I bought it as a drinking-cup for my desk, but...whatever. I think it's pretty. About 3.5 inches tall.

    I just love it. It's so cute. I have four or five other beakers similar to this which I'm selling off as recompense for the expenditure on this one :p

    It is definitely a kiddish cup and it is recent, you can tell by the style. But it is very pretty, enjoy!

    JMHO. this twisted form is older, art nouveau, from 1890s onwards to 1920s.

    leave it, please. I have copper planters and pewter vases that are proven to be from the art nouveau period. the twisted form is called torsadé in French and well known.
    I rather doubt that it's a kiddush cup. sometimes I feel as if every silver cup HAS TO BE a kiddush cup... the STG 925 is also consistent with your location, so keep it up !
