Printing screen for textiles, looks like. It would look great framed with a contrasting color behind.

Looks like some kind of bark of a tree. Could it also be aboriginal art?

I've been hanging around with you crazy Dutch too long; I didn't need the translation on those. :bookworm::bookworm::bookworm:

I knew it. Next thing you know there will be a turf war with the Danes and the Aussies.

I’m just curious, there looks to be diamond wire behind. Is that just to stabilize those thin cuts?

It can be very confusing. But they say learning languages is good for the brain and gives you a better chance against Alzheimers.
If only I could remember who 'they' were.....:playful:

Some of that is also in common use on this side of the Pacific. The Cockney-drived bits, not so much, but lots of US politicians are a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

I think most of the 'Aussie' phrases on that site are pretty general, and to be found in Britain as well. I know English from both parts of the world pretty well, through growing up in Oz and British relatives (and watching too much BBC).

I used to love the phrases Barry Humphries used. Most came from another London based Aussie, forgot who. Since they both knew colloquial British English as well as Strine (Austalian) and knew which was which, they could use the genuine Aussie expressions. And make some up along the way.
We still use some of the phrases from Humphries' Barry Mackenzie books about an Aussie expat in London.
