@KSW - I would have jumped on that also. There are often treasures lurking in an old button box.:happy:

Looking forward to seeing what you find.

Picked this large 54” x 41” C. Jere “winter orchard” wall sculpture today for $12.99+. Not my picture, mine’s still in the vehicle. They retail for just over $1,000.

I kind of like it; wouldn't pay $1000, probably; but for $12.99 it is great.

It'll look good on a wall or great back in your wallet with 10x of its sales price!

Most C. Jere sculpture isn’t to my taste but I’ve sold at least a couple dozen pieces over the past 20 years. The last good one I had was seagulls in flight bought for $10 and sold for $950 at the flea market.

I have to examine all the new jewelry at the resale shop. This hot air balloon pin marked MFA for the Museum of Fine Arts is everywhere on the secondary market for $69 - $125. I paid $4.

Looks nicely made. Pretty enamel too. Great buy if you can turn it around for that sort of profit!

I bought it to wear for a while. I love hot air ballooning. I go anytime I have a chance. The best was a flight over the Serengeti ending with a champagne breakfast in the tall grass.

Wow, how exciting!. I’ve only ever done it once in Sedona which was amazing despite a very bumpy landing in strong wind and the basket being dragged through the desert with me being squashed by a rather ample gentleman who lost his balance :hilarious:

Ouch. But MFA for pennies on the dollar is always good.

Here's the metal that made it home today, or most of it. I went to the first tag sale of the season in town, not expecting much. Found...OHYEAH! I got some weighted sterling cups, 1960s wedding gift stuff, a sterling fork of no great whoop, and some Mexican souvenir ashtrays that aren't shown. They were all silver and went straight to the scrapper. Came home with the Portuguese pieces that need testing, the stainless fork/spoon, and the textiles. And the only pieces of jewelry at the sale - a few hoop earrings. One was 14k and in a toiletries baggie with a thermometer and a nail file. Came home with more money than I left with!

The ornate stuff all needs testing; I think it's all silver. The ashtray is a brass gingko leaf with markings. A local antique dealer will love it. The birdie is going to my sister's house. The Penguin is Chinese, probably stainless. I found an illegible mark on the stick thingie with a dove on the end; if it was a hand I'd call it a Torah Yod but no such luck. All in all I've had worse days.:p:p:p
