It's Bohemian/Czech, painted/enameled molded reverse intaglio set on a mother of pearl disc - should date to around the first quarter of the 20th century...

Finally had time to dig out Jargstorf's 'Baubles, Buttons and Beads: The Heritage of Bohemia (1993) - it shows a brooch similar to yours, and also what appears to be your basket design in different colorways.

Thank-you Cheryl:) That is pretty slick to see photos of just the glass stones! The basket shape must have been popular, I've come across quite a few that are the same or very similar to mine!
Glad I started this thread, it has been interesting.
Thanks for all the input everyone:)

@DragonflyWink The book you mention, Baubles, Buttons and Beads, would you recommend it? I like looking in books for information and only have a couple of books on jewelry.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I bought a copy of that book and read the whole thing. It is fascinating. A lot of history there. Unlike some other jewelry books it is not only a reference book with images. It has a lot of fascinating (to me, anyway) historical information.

Have owned it for at least 20 years, and it is a good book, not sure there is another focused on Bohemian/Czech jewelry, though as the title suggests, it's not just jewelry (but primarily). Also have the same author's 'Glass Beads from Europe' (1995), and like it too...
