Can anyone tell me WHAT this item is for? It's a mystery to me...TIA! :)

    Made of plaster over wood, I believe. Piano hinge so it opens up. Mother Nature ? and a putti hugging the earth with a garland. Marked "copyright LCMayer Jan 1915" at least that is my best guess. Very cool. So what-the-what-the? Thanks!! Sally :)

    That would explain the opening that looks like it's for a cord. That had me wondering is it was for something electrical.
