Industrial Look Still Popular in USA

This metal rolling cart with two oak trays garnered $472. A matching cart, in slightly rougher condition but still exuding the popular industrial vibe, brought $442.50
I wonder if being auctioned from Masonic center had anything to do with prices or this stuff is still selling well, seems like a lot for an old push cart, story at the link.

Interesting things - I like this table from the auction...a bit unusual. Yes, industrial is popular - in my area the cart would go for about $150-200. I remember 30 years ago being offer a warehouse full of these kind of industrial things for free, but I passed (time changes everything)

 

Your table has a scene of a bacchanle & little goat's feet, so we can guess what it was used for.

Never been a huge fan of Industrial,Ive always thought it only really suited a loft apartment in New York . Its pretty popular overall,but Im seeing a slow down on it,as well as MCM. As long as they dont bring back Distressed ! Blech ! LOVE Drews table!!!

 

I thought MCM...good MCM...was on the rise ???

 

I read a lot of decorating blogs and magazines and Im seeing more traditional and antiques being used.Theres still a ton of MCM being used,but not as all encompassing.

Industrial is strong most everywhere. Not everyone can get those kind of prices but it is all relative. I pay less and sell for less. About $250 would be max for that here.

 

Yeah, I hear you. Interesting that function seems to rule over form these days, that could be one of the reasons Shaker sells so well.

 

Yeah is, i didn't notice it until you posted but it is striking, not exactly giving it away at $2500. either

 

LOL, uhhhhhhh, noooooooo, not yet. I saw recently an 18th century american chest on chest that sold in 2005 for over 460k struggle to make $66,000. last week.
