Not sure what the numbers on the bottom mean or if anyone recognizes that stamp?? Any clues would be a big help.

Thank you!! I see 1970 Inuit sculptures on the internet for 500 to 2k $$. Any thoughts on why this is not worth much in your opinion?

It depends on the reputation of the artist, and the quality of the work. Many less-known or unknown artists may sell for much less. For example, my wife bought a box lot of 10 fairly ordinary Inuit sculptures - seals, birds, fish - for $50 a few years ago. Nobody else was bidding, but there were a couple in there she liked, so she went for it. But if dealers in the room were not willing to pay $5 each, it gives some idea what the resale value would be, in their opinion.
But as my wife thought, if you like it, that is the main thing, unless one is hoping to find a hidden gem. That is more likely if one is familiar with artist's names, or has the experience to recognize work that is beyond the usual.

Nice enough piece but not particularly valuable. You don’t give dimensions but assuming it is 6-8” in length, retail value would be approximately $200 Canadian.

Thank you Mark! Yes you are correct it is about 6-8”. Do you have any idea what all those numbers and stickers on the bottom are for?

the sticker could be the co-ops community site tag...
    the letters are the signature
    1977..........is..well.....1977
& the numbers are the co-ops internal listing.

For comparative purposes, here are a few fish by the late Sheokjuk Oqutaq, pretty much the only Inuit artists whose fish sell for more than $1,000 on the secondary market.
