Featured Small George Bee Totem - Any information

This George Bee totem is from the reseller's treasures, so it has comes with no history except what is supplied by the tag on the bottom and the George Bee signature. The tag reads Kwakiutl, Alert Bay. BC. The totem is 11 inches tall and the wood is light weight. The appears to be a faded finish on it. The carving looks skilled and appears to have specific images. I could only find one active link to a piece that has George Bee's name. Either he was not a prolific carver or his pieces don't change hands very often. Looking for information about George Bee, the images, the wood, and anything else I can find out. This looks like it is right up @komokwa's alley, but I would appreciate anyone else who wants to to chime in. I am grateful for any help.

 

I found a Clifford George Bee. Looks like his work. Maybe you can find more carvings with this full name.

keep it clean....cedar has oils in it....no need to wax or oil it further...

What I think now is Clifford George is a carver and he carved a bee.

Not much I can add, except that I've found online searches can become very difficult if the searched name has an actual meaning; as here, the search for the name "George Bee" may turn up a great many masks representing a bee (like the one above).

 

I like to find out everything I can about something I enjoy. My friends tell me I tend to intellectualize everything, I guess they are right.

 

And bees too. Sooooooooooooooooo many bees.

 

I have that tendency, too.
