Love those candle holders too. I just learned of a new item to be on the hunt for.

They're pretty cool. Could the ladle be a mustard ladle? Or is it too new?

I found this Friday at the auction & got it for the DH to put out in his shop. His father worked at Sun Oil for 30 years as a machinist. I wasn't quite sure what it was when I bought it, but have since learned it is a c.1915 salesman sample bottle for some type of oil. According to a very helpful member of Oldgas forum, the logo on this label was used from around 1896 to the mid 1920's. It is 6 3/8" tall to the top of the bottle & is 1 3/8" across the bottom.

I gave it to him last night & he thought it was very cool indeed. He is going to fashion some type of holder to put it in, kind of like a cup holder, so it will not fall off or get knocked off the shelf.

You guys are amazing at finding the best glassware. I continue to be a complete dummy at this. I bought some Czech china at Goodwill and it is more modern. It is MZ Indian tree, I am giving it to sis to sell at the flea market.

We finally got my uncle's house, barn, and garage/shed all cleaned out, the house is listed, and we are showing it. Still in an audit situation (paid taxes in November, just got assigned an auditor in June who never returns my phone calls. This will drag out a year or more, I bet.)

Ended up at Urgent Care last night due to a spider bite that got really bad....on antibiotics and steroids, oral and topical.

I did get up early (for me) and ventured up to my flea market 30 miles away. I will get up earlier next Saturday (I think 5 a.m.). It is hit or miss- vendors were setting up when I got there at 8:15, but all at different times....and my jewelry competitors were out in force already.... BUT I found this ring in a bag of $1 costume jewelry. Diamonds, emeralds are green glass, missing one end stone, need to test for content (probably 14k):

Then this guy bought out a jewelry store and he had three tables of jewelry, modern and vintage, sterling and watches, for $2. Sterling was $7-$10 a piece. He just kept bringing out box after box after box. I bought a ton of stuff, but these two items were my favorite. Ivory earrings missing one 14k gold band in the center:

and these circa 1920 brass and diamonte earrings. Another lady was looking for the mate, so I picked up the single earring and hunted. It was in a drawer in one of the jewelry boxes he had out.... Brilliants Berlin Auction.jpg
And from another vendor to add to my doll collection, a VT-20 Miss Revlon in great condition:

Yeah, I am addicted to the hunt, too. It's a rush. I really need to open a booth in an antique mall in Cape May. I cleared a lot of the junkier modern costume jewelry to give to sis to sell at her flea market. I am organizing my house and basement. My uncle had three great shelving units that are going in my basement. It will help us greatly. We just have to get them over here.

I got out my Ideal reference book...dolly is wearing a Revlon outfit, partial, called Queen of Diamonds. She does have her crinoline, panties, and rhinestone earrings that came with the set.

Hunting and finding is the best part! I found beads today that I'm fairly sure are opaque amber, but I'll give them another go-over before saying for certain.

Congratulations to all on latest finds, & count me right in there with those who love the hunt & the finds.

But Marko, this really concerns me:
Please make sure doctor stays on top of it. Have known more than one person for whom a spider bite became cellulitis & needed chronic, expensive, treatment. Best to go after it aggressively early on.

I have been icing it morning and night. It still itches like crazy....I started taking antihistamines today (I am allergic to almost everything.) It seems like the venom is still in there...it has improved since I was at Urgent Care Sunday. I keep it elevated a good part of the day....the antibiotics and steroid cream seem to be working. I know three people who ended up in the hospital, too, due to spider bites.

Hopefully the antibiotic will do the job of preventing a spreading infection & other treatments will make it bearable enough so you can resist scratching it. All wishes for a speedy, uneventful recovery
