Her brother is recently passed and his widow is/has gotten rid of EVERYTHING and moved ON!!! Literally....but my SiL only wanted a couple of items....trying to see if you all have any idea on FIRST...this table....was used as a desk.....it’s kind of different....Dimensions first... it’s 30” W x 60” L x 29 1/2” High....it’s the leg setup on one end that has us kind of baffled......here it is: Sorry ‘bout the red car in the background....SiL was NOT helpful about age on this one other than it has age to it....I know....not that helpful....other than it “could” have come from their mother!!! She’s looking for the usual.... i.e. age, does it ring any bells with anyone, and I told her about situation with values, but any ideas where she might look???? And am going to do a new Post with the other item as I took a number of pictures on a little-ish Chinese table.....ANY help here is GREATLY APPRECIATED, AS ALWAYS!!!!
STILL IN FURNITURE, LITTLE CHINESE END TABLE, PINK MARBLE INSET IN TOP (if I’m correct!).....my initial thought was that the carving was different on all 4 sides, which is why I’m posting ALL 4 SIDES, but now I’m thinking they MIGHT all be the same.....BUT I was careful to have the boys turn it for me.....did the best I could with symbols on underside of marble.....if anyone can make heads or tails out of it!!!!! AGAIN, the same questions.....WHAT do you all think???? DO you think it has some significant value, or just tourist made?? She said THIS piece belonged to her Mother back in at least the ‘60’s or before, but doesn’t know where she got it! The size is 19 1/2” square X 26 3/4” High.....and here they come: OOOOPS....and once again, ANY AND ALL HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! AND THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
Regarding the table in the first post.....Yes she does, @Bakersma, it seems to be mostly unglued.....it’s pegged.....
If I were close enough I'd be nabbing that Chinese table. It looks very well-constructed and I'd bet not for export. The writing underneath is probably marks made by the artisans for themselves. Beyond that, dunno.
The legs on the first one are such different styles, it makes me wonder if something has been replaced. But I can't tell. I found a couple of other tables that are smaller than that one, but have the same type of leg configuration. @evelyb30, @Bakersgma, @komokwa or ANYONE have any kind of a NAME for at least that Chinese table so maybe I can try digging on my own??? I’m at a loss here......THANKS! AND JUST did a Google search.....came up with a bunch similar!! Looks to be in the +/- $300.00 to +/- 500.00 range from what I can see with the key words: “heavily carved Chinese Rosewood plant stand with pink marble inlay” .....and I guess that about sums it up unless someone else knows more!!!! I’ve saved the links so SiL can see what I found.....
First table is extremely odd. Let me see if I am seeing this correctly. One end is curved, the other flat. One end is taller than the other? If the end pedistal had castors, would they be the same height? Styling suggests renaissance revival circa 1880. Flat end is not beveled on the top edge so suggests that it was meant to be place against a wall. The other option is that this was cut down from a longer table that had pedestal legs on each end and the two legs in the middle. If the latter, would think this is from a store. The chinese occasional table is nice quality but I don't believe it to be antique.
HOWEVER, the table/desk at the very top is still a conundrum! @verybrad, you popped in while I was typing....actually the table is level as it sits!!! Sorry I cut off the tri-feet in one image.....and THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT!!!!!

I didn't notice that! Your theories about either going against the wall or half cut down both seem plausible.
Best idea I've seen so far; if the pedestal leg is shorter than the others, seconds on the missing casters. They were used so the cleaning crew could get under the furniture.
BUT it IS as LEVEL as the day is long!!!!! The distortion is from the angle I took the picture at with me sitting in the wheel chair!!!!! SORRY!!!!!
