Copper jug / vessel - where from?

This copper(or perhaps brass) hammered jug with brass handles(look hand forged) is about 8" tall, and about 6" in diameter. It holds just under a gallon (about 3 1/2 liters volume). The bottom is almost rounded and can just barely stand up on it's own, easily tipped over with a slight push, I don't think it's meant to sit on it's base, although if you put some sand or a folded up towel underneath it sits nicely. Is this form from somewhere in particular? Guess it was made in 2 or more pieces and then brazed together - seems to be a seam about 1/3 of the way up. The bolts that hold the handles on are iron/steel as they are the only part that attracts a magnet at all. Thanks again!!

This is similar but I see no explanation as to attribution to Egypt. Etsy has many similar with attributions to many different countries. There is no decoration to give any hints. It seems the shape is also not specific to any country I can tell. As usual that is just from can gather from Google. Maybe someone who knows more about it will see something. I see a few but handle-wise this was closest.

Thanks INH! Seems like it is indeed a bean pot. Most of them have lids and a cylindrical base wherein the heat source would reside....

Googling Egyptian bean pot shows many examples...but like you said ..is it actually Egyptian? Perhaps.

So that explains the wobbliness, if it had a base like the one you found. Yes, it’s very difficult to know for certain where it may be from. :)
