    It looks like a coffee table to me?

    Judging from the Ming style legs and cloud scroll carvings - Chinese. Can you tell if it is mortise/tenon type of construction? Likely a 20th century piece.

    I agree, it is Chinese, and it could be 20th century, but we need more photos.:)

    I once sold a pair of these for a friend. She was doing probate for someone, and a valuer said a hundred quid the two.

    They hit £1500.

    Measurements too?? Kind of uncomfortable looking settee with those front corner pieces.....JMHO....but otherwise nice simple lines!!

    Once you take a few hits off that Opium pipe, Aqui, all of that discomfort will disappear!

    HAHAHAHA!!!! You don’t know how BADLY I do with REAL drugs @sabre123, after a few prescribed pain killers after my surgery even I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS SAYING....QUIT them in a heartbeat!!!!!!!:muted::muted::muted::muted::muted::muted::jawdrop::jawdrop::joyful::joyful:

    Thanks everyone.. I'll see if I can get clearer pictures of it.. I doubt if it's a coffee table Judy.. I know it's really heavy and quite big. You will see if I get pics up.. also I do agree it wouldn't be very comfortable

    They sold as a pair of late 19th C Chinese "benches" from memory.

    I agree. Chinese daybed or opium-bed. Probably would've had Chinese ceramic pillows along with it.
