It extends to about 6 feet.
I’m going to do a new silk cord with a inline switch and new insulator in the socket.

Good idea; I doubt that socket is trustworthy any more.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Me, not knowing to much about decanters, the body shape is spot on :). With the stopper being different and the cuts coming from the top and not like the one on replacement site, from the bottom, is it the same family? Just asking for a friend....not :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Update: never mind, found my answer, thanks again.

Some of today’s finds. More sterling flatware, Westmorland in the “John & Priscilla” pattern, a pair of sterling S&P damaged but good for scrapping. A filthy, heavily tarnished William Kerr sterling frame. 3 matched Bakelite bracelets. A nice J.F.K. portrait painting from Tokyo and a cool watercolor I haven’t researched yet. All for under $40.

Love the Kennedy portrait. Would have pissed my pants all the way home if I had found it .

WOOT! Anund scores again. The frame is so grungy they missed the marks; all the better for you of course. Around here they don't miss nothin'.

I went back to the bag sale this morning and came home with a brooch I shouldn't have bothered with, a scrapbook I shouldn't have bought (but Creative Memories for $1.25?) and some clothes I don't need.

Thanks. I always thought I caught a big dose of Stubborn from my dad. But now I think Mom is as much to blame. So of course tomorrow there's an estate sale. There's on on Saturday too, but it requires highway driving and roads I don't know that well and...nahhh.

    BTW - maybe @daveydempsey 's grandcat needs a waterbed.

    Yahoo!

Went to an estate sale at o'dark 30 this morning, but I got spot #1. Picked up a pocket watch, a bathrobe, and some other stuff. The chain on the watch is 14k, marked on both ends. There are also 14k earrings and two light sterling bracelets. The watch is a nonfunctional Elgin. I can't get the dust cover open to see if it's a gold case, but it's monogrammed. No great designs worth shooting, but I doubled my money!

I had to take a photo for something else anyway (darned internet router and wonky wifi strike again) so... here's the best of what I found. 14k clip-on earrings, 14k watch chain with unknown composition case Elgin, two sterling bracelets, a gold-filled BHG locket, Van Dell sterling earrings and bracelet. Rhinestone ring, and coral and gold-filled pendant. I-word daisy pin and a sterling heart. The chain on the far right could be anything but gold. DSCF5811.JPG

If that chain pans out.... Headed to the antique dealer tomorrow. The watch doesn't work and I can't pry open the dust cover to look for hallmarks.

Not in the photo, a brass art nouveau jewelry box. The silk liner is shattered, but the box itself is great. Going straight to the dealer. Just called him; he wants to see that box. And the watch.(LOL)
