20210313_142407.jpg 20210313_142337.jpg 20210313_142321.jpg I recently found these 3 matching McCoy vases. I think they are from the 1930s but want to be sure. They are approximately 4 & 1/2 inches tall. I believe the mark is the early Nelson-McCoy mark. All three have same mark but yellow is hard to see. They are all in very good condition with no cracks or chips, and I am wondering if they have any value. Thank you!

Right, #505 4" Oil Jar, 1941, on p. 231 of Sanford's Guide to McCoy Pottery.

Oil for what? A lantern or oil lamp? Would the jars have had a spout at one time? They're really charming.

I knew the big ones were called oil jars and figured these were just named for the shape. Olive oil, maybe.

    Hi,
The cemetery where my grandparents are buried have two very large oil jars from Pompeii on the side of the entrance gates.

Despite McCoy producing the more "affordable" Ohio art pottery in large quantities; The market for McCoy, especually Nelson McCoy seems fairly strong. A nice matching set should be in demand.
