Thanks Sue!! The first 2 did not come cheap, but in both cases I was bidding against a guy who has a real hoarding problem. He buys all this stuff & puts it into plastic totes. The totes are never unpacked but are taken home & piled all around the house as well as out in the yard covered by tarps.

In the case of the tea set I just couldn't let that happen, because the next time we saw it all of the pieces may or may not be intact.

I haven't been to his house in years, but I have been told that there are rooms you can not even get inside.

Anund, I'm sure you see it looks like "Dzea" on your 'Duchesse de Rohan'. Those 3 miniatures are the best finds I would probably ever hope to find!!!! Really great!!:singing::singing::):):)

@anundverkaufen!!!!! Tell me if I'm shooting in the dark or just dreaming, but I think I found a siggy on the miniature guy you bought.....you know I like to play with images....I lightened and hit the 'curves' and THINK I found what's circled in red below.....Good Luck if it's real!! Whoops.....let me add a close-up!!!! Back in a minute!!

OK, so hopefully you're on a computer and use a mouse with a scroll function AND are using WINDOWS!! First click on the image....then, Hold down the "CTL" key while scrolling FORWARD to blow up the screen......best way to see what I found!!

This is the signature on the male, full sunlight to get it to show in the dark background. It’s to the right of his head, vertically.

Thank you! With that I found a few other French portraits signed Dzea.

Yes, I could barely see it through the glass so the image I posted is out of the frame without the glass.
Unfortunately it had no id. of the sitter on the back.

Obviously catching up here. I think it's probable that the two Duchesses are copies, but the man might be original and, at an idle guess, early 19th C.
