Help needed please. Old Copper pot, unknown origin.

Hi,

My mother has asked me to help locate a bit more information on a copper pot she has. She’s had it sometime and thinks it may be of Persian or Arabic origin.

Could anyone help shed some light on the pot or what it’s called?
There is also some writing on the side, which looks Arabic I think. I’ve tried to take some close up photos of the writing but it’s hard to make out even in natural light.

Appreciate any help with this.

Thanks for that, all sorted had to reduce the file sizes so hopefully this now works.

Thank you, it seems like it was definitely hand hammered. From what I've researched the closest I could find was of Persian origin. With the hook on top it and looking at the base it would point to a cooking pot or spice pot, but really not sure to be honest.

 

Think I may have had a breakthrough!
On Google image search for 'Indian copper grains pot' it looks very similar to the 3rd photo in. Unfortunately that photo looks to be removed now, so not any further info on it, but looks to be alike.

 

Google doesn't always give the same results for everybody. It tries to customize based on previous searches done by a person. So, I didn't get the same result list but did see some similar items that have the "hammered" look and are said to be Indian. I also saw one that says it's a grain pot and another that said it was for dried fruit. Both came up with a Pinterest link and I don't know where they originally were from, but the forms are similar to yours. Not exactly the same, though.

Yes that Pinterest result does look similar too, so it would suggest storage of dried goods of some kind.

Just need someone to translate the hindi(I think) writing
