Asian ring with painting - Should I buy it?

The shape of the crest matched this. The text block was in the upper left with the image around. A purely representational image from my recollection.

FYI, I thought Japan because I saw several rings with that shaped crest with Japanese writing in it. While toying with this image, I looked again to find the shape was associated with the church of Later Day Saints. So it may not be from Japan.

 

It is also traditionally used on signet rings.
