asian silver bowl hallmarks idetify

    I have an old silver bowl from India, China? Who can tell me what the hallmarks mean?
    can someone say which country she comes from? The age is approx. 1800-1900 + -

    It's a Burmese (or possibly Thai) bowl made for Chinese silver merchants. They typically have the combination marks you see here, the local marks and the Chinese marks. Pics 2 & 4 are upside down. Looks like there may also be a British mark in the middle of it all, possibly upon import. These usually date c1880-1930. I'm having a hard time unscrambling the marks to get more detail though.

    Agree. More Burmese than Thai, but most countries don't have a complete culture change at the border, so these could be made in the border region too.

    I thank you. Should I try to take care of it in order to read it better? A more precise age limit would be nice.

    Could you show more sides? It could be towards the latter part of the time frame.
