Hello everyone! is this a jar? Should it have a lid? Where is it from? x x

    Hello everyone..is this Japanese,Chinese or somewhere else? x x
    I think it's a jar,not a vase? Is it a ginger jar,or a tea jar? Should have a lid I think? ( or am I wrong as always )? xx
    Doesn't look very old.

    It's approx 3 and a half inches down,the hole for things to go in is approx two inches.

    i like it, would think japanese, might have some age as well, others will know more

    Japanese, missing a lid. I can't remember what the mark is, someone will know. 1920s or30s.

    It looks like Japanese Kutani ware. And yes, missing a lid.
    I think the mark should be the other way around;)

    @Mat probably knows the period and the maker.

    Hi, it is indeed Kutani, early 20th c. The mark reads "Wataya sei" (綿谷製), made by Wataya.
