Not amber but what?

    I was hoping that this 20 inch primitive necklace might be amber, but I got strange results in my closet. Maybe some kind of resin? The beads are unpolished, cylindrical, different lengths and colors. I think its pretty anyway and will be good for casual use. Any thoughts appreciated.

    Glass barrel/bugle/tube beads and bone hair pipe beads.

    Interesting. They don’t feel like glass to me but this is why I ask. I am trying to learn. They have no shine or polish to them. They are quite dull in finish.

    That's about where I'd have landed too. Lots of recycled glass beads come out of assorted parts of Africa and they're not shiny.

    I'm with the others, glass. It looks tribal Indian, probably northeastern India.
