    Hello everybody!

My name is Andrew, and I have been collecting for close to 6 years now! Hoping for a warm reception, so I will start off with a few of my favorites! Some pre-merger International and Rogers&Bro silverplate! I got really lucky on these at a local estate auction where the owner was apparently still using them! (They were in a little plastic tub with a bunch of 1940s bulk lmao!) If my research is any good, the Rogers should be pre-civil war, and the IS should be circa 1880s! 16131927790127630727350294036087_50.jpg 16131928780738679963921443135969_50.jpg 16131929362189179030914978465407_50.jpg Now with out further adieu, a few of my favorite pieces!

I began with buying and selling Pokemon cards at a local flea market, but slowly learned about coins, then antiques through my customers! Now, I have a slightly impressive collection of whatever I find that I enjoy! The main antiques I collect are Occupied Japan, Depression Glass, Silver plate/sterling, coins, and jewlery (among other misc items ;) )

Any objections on what I said up there? My research was correct, right? I don't like leaving misinformation around (even accidentally), incase someone happens to run across this with the same type of item.

Welcome, Andrew - always nice to meet a young collector.

You're a bit off on some things - International Silver, basically a syndicate of different companies, didn't even exist until 1898, Rogers & Bro. was one of the original firms to join them in '98, but they continued to use their marks for years, and International retained use of the name and marks even after it just became a single concern.

The Rogers & Bro. pattern is 'Oval', also known as 'Oval Thread' or 'Threaded Oval', it's a classic pattern, in production in both silver and silverplate from right around 1850 and made by various manufacturers into the 20th century. Rogers & Bro., as well as '1847 Rogers' produced it under the 'Oval' name for years, would guess that your forks are 19th century, and could be pre Civil War, but not necessarily.

The other fork is the 'Falmouth' pattern, it was introduced in 1914/15 by Wallace & Sons as 'hotel plate', International acquired Wallace's hotel flatware patterns in 1954, continuing production of 'Falmouth' under their name.

My first purchase was a beautiful silver plate bowl that I still have and love. I purchased it with my babysitting money. I think I was 12 or 13?

Welcome to the forums! Always nice to see the collections of new members. I too started young since my grandfather was a flea market vendor and my parents and I enjoyed estate auctions.
