I had a dealer come to all my yard sales. He would do this trying to confuse me act. He would make a pile, then pay for one or two things, then said he paid for more, so I just wrote everything down and made him pay at the end. I also had a lady badger me about a $25 pair of earrings (that was the half-price sale price I paid). They were $5, and she kept wanting them for less....she annoyed me so much I told her "I changed my mind, I am keeping them."

    FIND ONE PLEASE!

Can you find an example of a Richard Sefton 2002 sculpture entitled "Defenders of the Realm"
Commisioned by Brooks & Bentley for QEII 2002 Golden Jubilee featuring royal coat of arms flanked by a lion and a unicorn.

We have one, with accompanying paperwork, but have failed to find another example. It is a large work and Sefton was an accomplished sculptor, but there should have been 3950 produced yet none seem to be around.

Yes I do but not wanting to post it yet as all the bots will latch onto it when searching

    Size 16.5" long, 13" tall.

Will post photo if anyone can find another! And will post in a day or two if another cannotbe found :)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Ha ... I found an old listing via my phone. I think it was on eBay UK originally. It went unsold. Unfortunately I have never figured out how to share web links onto this web board when using the phone. It is in the "picclick" domain.

I'll try to figure it out again, or maybe somebody else can find it.

I don't offhand. Chances are it would not be worth paying to have it restored, since it needs tuning pegs, a bridge and a tailpiece. But you might well auction it off as-is; I'm sure there are folks who a) know how to put it into playing condition, and b) would be willing to pay a reasonable price.
I would qualify for a) but not b).... my wife thinks I have too many banjos already. (Really, only three so far; the two 4-strings, and the banjo-mandolin).

Bots will not get pics in the General Discussion Forum.....or so I'm led to believe.
If you ever needed to show us something....a new thread there may be the way to go !!
    Just sayin.........

2 gal. jug for $3.00. Unfortunately has a crack but should be worth a bit anyway. Have not found another with this unique vent with whittled wooden plug. Will probably send some pics to Crocker Farms.

Picked up this 2 gal. bee sting crock at the same thrift on a different day. Probably Redwing. Had to pay $7.00 for it .... LOL!

    Hi Rhiwfield,
If you do not want the bots to capture your photos place the item in the General Discussions forum. The bots do not go there. It is the only safe place.

@verybrad - I would have snatched that set up in a skinny minuet. :D:D:D

Obviously I am either not getting there at the right time or I am not going to the right TS. I have yet to find anything even resembling sterling silver when I have gone into any of the ones around here or any of the ones I visited in NC or VA on my way to & from my convention.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I finally got a photo of the 3 perfume bottles I won in the raffle at my convention. They measure between 1 3/4" (black) to 2 1/4" (green) & all were made in Czechoslovakia.

The green one is Malachite glass & is part of the Ingrid line. As you can see in the second photo it has a small opening at the top instead of a dauber.

The one on the left is actually a pale amethyst color glass.

All 3 are shown in one of my reference books about Czech bottles for purse & dresser written by one of the longtime members of the IPBA.

This is the first significant silver find in a long while. Most of the thrifts (including this one) seem to be keeping it off the shelves. I assume that since it was tarnished and did not look much like silver, that it got through. I did find an old coin spoon at a different thrift last month. Some of the recent thrift finds on the silver thread beat any of what I have found.

Today I'm not even sure I found silverplate. The only sterling was some highly overpriced jewelry.

I was feeling rather pleased with myself today.
I got stuff done & may have saved myself over 9K in roof repairs.....but we'll see about that.
So off I went to my local thrift......& I know there's just not much of anything ever there.....but spending 6 bucks...made me feel good.....so who's it gonna hurt !

I'll have some pics up before the night's out.

I'm having them come back and re-evaluate their estimate of the roofs condition.....it may only require minor repairs.....fingers crossed !

Just make sure it's an estimate from someone you truss. ;)
