No antique finds this week but I acquired a few reference books at a used bookstore and have another one on the way.

I have another question relating to worth of copper....it's a design....5' 5" Long, and the f*%@# frame that it hung by is about 1" x 3/8" painted flat black steel.....images to come....I kind of just hate to see something with that much work in it just go to melt if that's what they even do....the center heart shaped opening had a brass heart with a saying or poem engraved on it....the combo looked terrific.....it hung over my parents fireplace in their Cape house.....brother wanted the brass heart but not the copper stuff.......I just couldn't throw it away.....end of story.....so far....
THANK YOU for any INFO you can offer!!!!!

HHMMMMM.....now THERE'S a potential I hadn't thought about!!!! @evelyb30!!! I should check into potential value of copper, but then I also should see if I can find out who the artist is/was who made it!!!

Beats the one I bought today at a vide grenier. One o'clock after loads of buyers going around, I bought a Shreve and crump sterling pitcher for 1 euro.630 gr. All my best buys seem to be in the afternoon here.

@Aquitaine maybe start a new post on Metal forum. Not everyone reads "Finds".

This looks like a pretty nice (hand crafted?) piece, although missing a central part, if it was me, I'd still want to know what is what.

Isn't it true that your parents collected nicer things? I know you've posted some drop dead gorgeous items from your mom, I would do some research on this prior to selling. It may be hard to nail down, but I'd give it a shot. Maybe someone here will have ideas. :)

Thank you @Lucille.b! Yes, my parents, especially Mom, were in to collecting, (and yes, she liked the nicer stuff!) which mostly went after Mom passed in '04 when I settled up the estate on the Cape. They retired there in '88.....took either 2 or 3 LOOOOONG moving vans to get them there from NJ!!!! OTH, I married a school teacher, and he was pretty adamant about us living within our means!!!! Occasionally the parents got away with giving us something (birthdays, Christmas,) and what we bought from the estate at the end......plus we live in a smallish ranch.....and I like keeping it that way!!! So your idea sounds like a good one!!! Mostly I'd like to know WHO the "artist" is/was!!!!! I know, probably a long shot...........Start a new post or ask Davey to move this one???

I think best just to start a new post.

(Davey might have his hands full with some estate clean out or a Sunday pint of beer.)

That doesn't work with me. I have called them on it, and the people running the show make them have it available to everyone. It's one thing if the person says they are buying it all, but to sort and pick without letting others see it? Nope.
