The beads are so large, and the weight is 302 grams. Idk what the metal beads are made from, and I think this is vintage rather than antique. It has a simple hook & eye clasp. I'd say carnelian. Tibet, Nepal or India.

Agree, carnelian, from India. It is a very nice necklace.

Tibetan jewellery isn't seen that often in the West, so it is generally not a safe bet.;)
The Tibetan style is very different. It has a lot of silver, often with repoussé scrollwork or delicate filigree. The stones on Tibetan jewellery are mostly turquoise and coral, lots of it, and occasionally amber/copal.

This style is found more in the Afghanistan to India region, and those end tubes on either side of the clasp are used a lot in India:

Agate, is a possibility too, particularly if its heavy.

The weight of carnelian and agate would be the same, they are both varieties of chalcedony.
Carnelian is chalcedony with iron oxide, hence the 'rusty' colour you see above.

What a beautiful necklace. Appears to be in pretty good condition, too.

Do you have these little collages all set up ready to go or are you simply a whizz at technology?

Would it have the flaws in it like this does? It's definitely not glass. Cool to the touch.

Whilst living in India and Nepal, It was fascinating to watch certain stones such as Carnelian, Malachite and Lapis being finely ground by hand into Earth coloured pigments which were then used to paint Thangka and to decorate bronze sculptures with.

    It's gorgeous!

I agree with Carnelian. Coral doesn't have that translucence and swirly effect.
