Any ideas??? Praying children??

    You could try sprinkling some corn starch(or i've heard cinnamon) on it to see if it brings it out - alternatively you could do a pencil rubbing of it on some paper...

    Sorry to post in this topic but with completely different item, just related to another "capodimonte" mark on a vintage porcelain clock. Is it also something like IPA or other maker?

    As I understand it the "N under a five pronged crown" mark was never trademarked so was used by many Italian companies. Even Chinese copiers could legally use it so the best you can do is say it has the capodimonte mark but who the manufacturer was is unknown.

    This one looks to me like the letters SH form the center 'points' on the crown?
