Antique statue Identification

Hello everyone,

This antique Statue has been in my family for decades it was found in an old Victorian homes basement. We know nothing about it and have never seen anything like it. We thought maybe it could be a an old grave marker but we are not sure. Anything you can tell us is helpful and greatly appreciated! The statue is about 3 foot tall and made of something hollow and breakable. She is about 2 foot tall and estimated 7 inches deep (I cannot find my rule to measure her). The word "Quelle" is inscribed at the bottom. Thanks have a blessed day!

 

I doubt anything related to a grave marker, but would think much more likely garden accent with bird bath.

Can't help, but she's lovely.

 

In looking to see a definition (dictionary) meaning of 'quelle' or if it could be a surname.....kind of leaves one up in the air....it would fit with either use, as the dictionary...one meaning anyway, suggests: suppress (a feeling, especially an unpleasant one), i.e., "he spoke up again to quell any panic among the assembled youngsters" as in to 'calm, soothe, pacify, settle'...which would fit nicely with a garden piece....so who knows!!!!

 

Isn't she sweet? A little Classical maiden.

Quelle belle. If that's green staining I'm seeing, reinforces the idea of garden statuary.

 

@Jackthejunker beautiful! Could she have been a fountain perhaps? I have seen some similar that have water coming out of the jug. Can you tell if water ran through it?

"Hollow" and "breakable" sounds like plaster to me.

Sorry for the late responses but life has been crazy recently! She does appear to be made of plaster and definitely is not a fountain.
