It looks like a person from a movie, but I believe they wore black cloaks with white mask.

I like it too and I think I know why it feels a bit scary. Even though this is female, the look is of Death in Ingmar Bregman's "The Seventh Seal". If you have a chess set in your man cave, it will look good next to it! ;)

Even though it is not in my taste, artistically it is beautiful. If we could still sell this type of item I would have bought it for resale in a heartbeat.

I did'nt take the photo. Look at the dust. It has been forgotten about for years.

Just found these two, purchased in a consignment store I do business with sometimes. Someone glued what looks like a hard stone cameo to a silver and amber brooch. The other has British hallmarks; it's sterling and MoP with that haunted castle printed on top. My cousin might be all over that one if I showed it to her.:p DSCF5477.JPG DSCF5482.JPG

Might be Chesterfield Parish church in U.K., it has a crooked spire.

Sure looks like it. If this hasn't been in a Dr Who episode yet, it ought to be. The Van Gogh alien would have been right at home.

Are they Chester Hallmarks, it’s only 60 miles away from Chesterfield?

British anyway. I'm going to start a thread and see if anyone else can read them. I can make out the lion and a date letter, but the rest is blurred. It seems too late for Chester.

Sounds like a plan, make sure you post the backs and any marks :)

The back is completely smooth. It's not an old piece - 90s or maybe even later.

Made in Occupied Japan doily. This piece for being 70 years old is in lovely condition. Colors still bright.

Maybe that's why they were made. I just looked up doilies.

Very pretty. Must have spent it's life in a drawer.
