If I remember correctly, Sue said this was not what it appeared to be - so, what is it?

Is it only a low silver content?

    Thanks Af.
So, if so, it would be .750 silver?

    Good job! LOL
I thought I remembered you saying that it wasn't *really* 12 Loth & thought it might be something else.
It's not worth diddly in any case, but since I am going to put it with other pretty much worthless stuff, I wanted to know for sure.
Makes the listing more attractive if one has at least some info on some of the pieces.

Tardy shows lots of Augsburg marks for dating. The only ones that look like this one say mid-17th century, but I doubt that? Is there a letter in that space below the pinecone looking part?

Now then - I notice that there is no letter beneath my pine cone, but surely this spoon is not as old as 1734?!

I suck at dating by style, but I have a bunch of loth marked spoons similar. They are all 19th century, I think.

I will have to take a soft toothbrush and see if I can clean it up a bit more.

Is there just a trace of dognose in the end of the handle? If so it could date to the period whnt the dognose was turning into the parabolic?

And what, pray tell, is a dog nose? :)
