I think that this is from approx 1870's - not exactly sure what the mark in the lower left hand means - and also the globe mark on the right isn't quite the same as what I've seen on some different websites for "printed" marks. I love the pattern and wish I had a few hundred of them :) Anyone know how to more specifically date this? Thanks again!

Aaron, have you spent any time on The Potteries website?

This page explains the diamond mark (the thing with the IV in a circle at the top.) Yours isn't very legible in the photo, but maybe you can see it better in person(?):

    Then, there are Minton/Mintons marks
(note: yours seems to say MINTON not MINTONS):

Also, a bit about Tile Making:
    http://thepotteries.org/potters/minton.htm
    and
    http://thepotteries.org/allpotters/744.htm

That site can be a little hairy until you get used to it, but there's lots of info there.

Thank you for the links and the explanation, SB! The diamond mark is pretty scuffed up - but with a loupe I can make out that the year mark is an I which puts it at 1872. Very cool! What a great site and a wealth of information on there. Looking through the old photographs now! :)
