Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

You mentioned the same face. Madame Alexander re-used the same faces on many dolls. The Alexander-kins, for example, had the Wendy face. It's called that because it was first used on the Alexander doll named Wendy. I think it was pointed out by somebody above that this might not be an Alexander doll. I can't tell for sure...

Kath....I was just pointing out that the original doll was created in 1948, had a hard plastic head, with no wig. Original size was 11".

Your doll is one of the later productions. If you can indent any part of the doll, it is soft vinyl. A very cute doll, and this later production does resemble the face of Wendy. The original does not.

By the way, Alexander-kins were 7 1/2 inches tall, or 8 inches. Apparently it varied through time. They were made for many years. Still don't know if this is one. I notice yours does have similar painted lashes, especially the bottom lashes.

The later productions could fall into that category I suppose, since the face and size resemble Wendy.

But it is not shown that way in my MA book as a Wendy baby.

Not much info on the doll itself, just the info I posted on the original.

Later productions show the doll with a caracul wig, but not much else is written about the doll.

I can't tell if Kath's has a caracul wig or not. I didn't think so at first glance.

Thanks for noticing my comment! Just as part of my education, what is a caracul wig?

Thanks! And now to go off topic... what are the two small holes near that doll's eyes? Did she have some sort of eyeglasses that were attached to her face?

I deleted my response on this forum. It had become redundant by the time I submitted it. ;)

If you didn't click on the link that came up, you can usually just reboot and it goes away. They're often pop up ads meant to scare you into clicking on something that may (or may not) put something on your computer. If you return to the site where it popped up the first time, it will probably pop up again. Using a pop up blocker like UBlock is helpful.

My mother told me one day about having one pop up on her computer. And how she had this wonderful conversation with a man in India who scanned and cleaned up her computer for her. :nailbiting: She now knows he wasn't a wonderful man because he tricked her into giving him money for services she didn't need. At that point, all I could do was remove the software he used to access her computer and tell her not to do that again.

    Thank you!
I had that happen a few years ago, and also spoke with someone who could help.......however, when they wanted money, I said no thanks.

However this time, whoever hacked my pc did a very thorough job.

When I turn it on, it goes to Repair. But can't repair anything.

I've tried advanced solutions, but nothing works.

I will have to have somebody with tech knowledge take a
    look.

The PC is only 3 years old.......not old enough to discard unless I have to.

This is more or less a warning to the rest of you to be wary of a full red ALERT screen,

As I stated before, it happened last week also, but I shut down immediately.

This time, however, it did not work.

    Hi Judy,
Does your PC have a restore button? If so pick a date before the hacking occurred and it should get rid of the problem. The repair message should read like "restore to another time" or such.

    Hi Greg!

    TY for trying to help.

I can't get beyond the suggested options to repair. System restore is one of them.

I've tried them all and none of them work.

When I turn on the PC it immediately goes to Repair......but doesn't/can't.

I'm so happy I have this laptop, but it's NOT my first choice.

    Better than nothing tho!!

    “Anyone Good With Old Dolls?“

Yes some snarky replies came to mind but since they were probably “inappropriate” in mixed company I’ve scolded myself and buried them.
