I have no idea what this animal is. It looks different from a wolverine to me. The tail was probably cut shorter. The front paws have fabric buttons so I imagine it was used around the 1930s as a neck wrap. Measurements from the nose to tip of the tail only (not counting legs): 31'' inches. It is 7'' inches wide at the widest part. Many thanks in advance for your help! IMG_5017.JPG IMG_5022.JPG IMG_5046.JPG IMG_5034.JPG

They were usually fox but have never seen one this color - more like a little wolf!

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

"He" may have been fashionable at one time, but I think I want to give him a decent burial after looking into those eyes......:(:(:(:sorry::sorry:

The ones in this expired eBay listing are similar color. Does it appear the tail has broken off on yours?

Very odd...i'd guess perhaps coyote...those eyes are freaking me out. Maybe it's stitched together from various animals...fantasy piece?

This appears to have snapped closed. Most I have seen are red & have a clip hidden in the mouth that you clip on to the tail. My grandmother had one. Think everyone had one. Remember finding a white one in a charity shop a very long time ago.

I do think the tail was cut off. You can feel the hide. I don't think it is a mink cause they are thin and smaller. I doubt it is a coyote cause the ears are to small on this one. I doubt it is a fox because of the colors (although the size could is similar) and YES it does have a clip under the mouth for clipping on the tail.... gosh it is such a mystery! But I am not afraid of it, I find him cute even if he is strange. Lol!!

Poor thing. He looks a bit surprised -- and a tad embarrassed -- to find himself in such a state.

OOOH, poor thing - has lost all it's dignity  I've got 4 minks from the 50's/60's that have similar snouts but not those ears and they are brown/black

Those glass eyes make the poor thing look... goofy. I'd donate it to an animal rescue that rehabs wild critters. They use old fur coats for the babies; sleeping with one makes them feel like they're with a mother critter.

    Hi,
I took one and removed the "eyes" they were on long wires and gave to my furbabies. They drug that thing around until it started to fall apart. I often ask people for stuffed toys that does not sell at a yard sale. I give them to the animal shelters, The same with old pillow cases and blankets that do not sell.

I am glad to know this. I have several other vintage furry beings that I found at garage sales that I could donate to our neighbor town that has a shelter. Thanks for the info.

My grandmother had one of these that I remember from childhood.

Here is one in my back garden that is in the pre-processed stage, but practising fox5.jpg

We call him Pope because he is an Urban fox.

Arctic silver fox in summer coat. I have one. My mother was given it by a soldier boyfriend in WW2. He'd actually shot the poor thing! It is definitely missing its tail.
