I thought it may be nice to share a few more items from my collection of period glass. I have added some info to accompany each piece, together with the maker if known.

I never tire of glass. It as been a passion of mine since aged 12 years, and even though my knowledge of the medium is good, I still learn new things every day. Such is the beauty of admiring, collecting & appreciating all period items as I'm sure you would all agree!

ENJOY! You will not have seen some of these examples before...

An English Victorian uranium glass epergne
    Produced at Stourbridge, pre-c1910

(I use the Sabino glass butterfly to provide a sense of size & scale)
Left & Centre are by Pierre D'Avesn, France. circa 1930s
The 'doves vase' is attributed to D'Avesn, in that he designed it.

Believed to be inspired by the Chennin Building in New York, this lamp
was produced by Lacroix, France, using 3 1930s opalescent glass fish.

    Stunning collection!
The fish are definitely my favourite.
Which country do you live in Ritzy?, I was just considering the problems of shipping glass like the epergne down the road let alone to another country!.

Very pretty glass, although I came away with no idea of scale, I don't know how big the Sabino butterfly is, and it was very distracting in each picture. Really just saw mostly that butterfly... :hilarious:

@KSW I live in England UK, and most of my collection as been purchased from overseas, including many very large Art Deco sculptures. It's always a worry, but provided items are wrapped & packed appropriately and with care, they arrive to me safely. One as no option but to cast your net far & wide to hunt-down a particular piece. You always run out of places to find items locally sooner or later. My only frustration (apart from price) is when people/auction houses refuse to offer shipping, and also high custom/import fees. I'm currently waiting for this Salvatore Melani sculpture from France. My fingers are crossed for its safe journey during transit.

I also think they all are enticing, but the French Luminaire from the 1930’s seems to speak to me most, I find it peaceful, and in some way concentrative with its glow. I find myself looking at each bird, and I smile lol. A wonderful part of your collection @ritzyvintage. ❤️Maven

All gorgeous. I especially like the one thought to be by Etling. But the fish are incredible as well. Hard to chose if one had to!

I decided to use the Sabino glass butterfly in my photos for several reasons... Firstly, I do occasionally sell or exchange items with collectors from all over the world and they are all familiar with Sabino glass, and so the butterfly is instantly recognisable to them. It provides an instant comparison... I also had a very successful shop on Ruby Lane, and by me using the butterfly it made my items & shop instantly recognisable from my competitors. Also, each to their own, but I personally dislike seeing ruler's/measuring tape in photos.

Hm... how do I track down where those pretties live? ;)

Yeah, Brit. Whitefriars addict amongst other things, but I've dabbled in centrepieces too.
