This photographs orange but it is more of a cinnamon color on the top. From what I read the crackle surface was created by dipping hot glass into water to create a prismatic effect in the sun. Then it was reheated to smooth it out. I haven't been able to find this shape or color on my own, so I was hoping someone here might know it, and could tell me the maker. I read it is a mid century style. This piece has a clear bottom, and a rough pontil scar. It is heavy for its size at a 1lb 6oz. It is 5" tall and 5" in diameter. There is no maker's mark.

I saw a couple of pieces that said that color was Pilgrim, but you know how that is. Do you recognize the shape or any makers that leave the bottom clear?

The gold color is throwing me. If it was a more solid cranberry I'd be tempted to say one of the West Virginia companies.

Thank you. I saw one that talked about adding gold sand to the color to get an effect. I'll track it down and maybe that will help.
    Here's the listing:
    RED-GOLD CRACKLE GLASS RUFFLE EDGE VASE | #466598246 (worthpoint.com)
And the narrative: "The red-gold color is obtained with the addition of gold sand in the glass, and you can see a small clump of it in the glass on one side. The crackling causes this vase to sparkle like a diamond even in minimal light."

Thank you, KikoBlueEyes, those links were very helpful. I was thinking cranberry rather than amberina. It really is a lovely effect.

Whenever I get information here I use it to launch more directed research. I so appreciate the help of the members. I had tried to find the answer before I posted this but I lack the basic knowledge of the field to know where to start.

I have looked at lot of these over the last several days, and I agree the color is on the unique and special side. I can see why it lasted. Thank you.
