Picked up some neat stuff at a recent auction.

    1. Eisenhower Bandanna - Always trying to add to my political pin & ephemera collection. Already had one of these but the price on this one was reasonable.

    2. Chessie Systems (now CSX) ashtray - Normally I don't collect too many ashtrays but I thought this one was neat looking and I like railroad related stuff. chessie systems ashtray.jpg

    3. Chesapeake & Ohio Rule Book dated 1899. Really interesting read.

    4. B&O Directory Of Industries - My most inexpensive purchase of the auction but I might like this one the best. It is full of information on railroad related information on the areas surrounding the B&O line and has lots of old advertising for restaurants and hotels. Really cool in my opinion.

Found the one on the top left this week at my auction house, the 3 others came in today; and were found on the net during my research ....

These are sort of a find. I was going through a box of photos I found tucked away and discovered these.
I may have posted the motorcycle one but I'm fairly certain the cowgirl is new as I don't remember it at all.
Sorry they are not very clear, but not my fault.

Something I just got around to photographing. An electrical knife switch. Stone base. Wood handle. Copper and brass. Rated for 35 amps. The base is only 3 1/4" long, so it's not particularly big. B.E. Co.

This came from my grandparents house where it was mounted (unconnected) to a beam in the attic. I can reliably say it's 1930s or earlier. I've always liked the mad-scientist vibe.

    Rarely do Royalty sign autographs.

Not only did King George V & wife Queen Mary sign this visitor book, a photograph was taken showing them do it in 1917

Its been sat in a tin chest in an attic for decades waiting for Davey to come along.:D

Sometimes stuff donated to museums never sees the light of day again.
From what I can gather the King & Queen visited a WWI Naval Hospital in Hull, by the look of the guys in white coats they seem to be Royal Navy reserves, the real guys were away fighting the cousins of the King & Queen. :D:D(Mary of Teck although technically a princess of Teck, in the Kingdom of Württemberg, she was born and raised in England. Her father Francis, Duke of Teck, was of German extraction) :D:D

My uncle fought in WWII and his ship was hit by a Kamikaze pilot. The love of his life was a Japanese woman and he loved Japan and said I should visit.

Went to an antique show and fell in love with this, newer reproduction sterling and chalcedony (blue mist is one name for the type of chalcedony.) Two mud dauber wasps with their nest necklace.
    Wasps.jpg

The seller told me this was her mother's Eastern Star pin, nope, Kappa Sigma
    Kappa Sigma.jpg
And the seller was just crazy on his prices except for this piece. He let the 14k smokey quartz pendant go for less than his newer sterling stuff.
