Featured Squeeeeel! Opal Bracelet update

It arrived today from the auctioneers! (no bubble wrap but it’s fine).
Didn’t think it was signed until I spotted it.
ZW&Co Silver Made in England.
Quick google and it takes me straight to @Any Jewelry ’s post about her Zoltan White ring!.
When I took it out of the envelope I saw the lobster clasp and thought just for a moment I’d bought a modern piece. it’s a replacement clasp which is a shame but it’s too short so I’ll need to get it repaired anyway.
Some of the ones I’ve looked at have a clasp which is a tongue that slots into the other half- do you think I should look for a similar age and style clasp (photos of what I should look for if anyone has time please) or go for a spring ring which wouldn’t really do it justice.
Ideas to lengthen it please keeping it in the same style?.

I’m wondering if mine is missing a link at either end as well as the clasp?. Maybe taken out for someone with a delicate wrist?.

 

Do you think the clasp and two of the floral links from this bracelet would be in keeping enough or should go complete plain chain links?

 

Those certainly go more with your bracelet than a lobster but prefacing that no one will ever accuse me of being a purist those tongue and groove clasps pretty easily become compromised in my experience and do not always hold. I have safety chains on all mine. I don’t really like using them but I don’t want to damage my bracelets either and if you drop opals, they’re history. Just my 2cents.

Oh, nice spot. I think it had one of those foldover clasps. You need a couple of chunky rings either end. (And whyare you dissassembling that other lovely thing, eh? )
