    Hi

Does anyone recognise this miniature cot or crib with a sleeping infant? It’s bisque porcelain and finely modelled with a nicely patterned quilt.
The only mark is a number 5799
I assume it is German c1920 maybe but is it a toy? A doll? It is one piece and the cover is fixed.
Found one similar (but not as nice) on Worthpoint

Going to sell but want to get it right.

    About 3” long

I can't help you on maker but if you are selling online you might want to include the word bassinet which better describes the piece.

Thank you. That’s a word I’ve not seen before.

It may be more of a word used on this side of the pond.:happy:

I did a search on eBay/US & I did not see anything like this but other pieces similar were listed.

I agree it is likely German-made but who might be difficult to pin down.

I'd call it a fairing. Bassinet isn't a common word in the UK, crib would be used for that. Might be German, they usually are, although the 7 isn't continental.

If it is German, the word would be Wiege.:D

My first thought was dollhouse item but it may be too large for that. My second thought was cake decoration. Hmmm, just my ideas. I would also call it a bassinet but I am US born.

I've had some little bisque cake toppers. I'd have said this was a tad large though.

If you are selling it , i would suggest you mention it would be a good cake topper. Lots of interest in cake toppers.

I'd agree: bassinet is a good term for it in the US... and I agree with cake topper!
