I don't know if this is silver

This is the only photograph I have, as I don't own it, but have an opportunity to buy it for €10.

There are two marks, and I cannot do any better than what I have here.

Opinions please:

 

Photo 1: Midnight to 01.30 hours; and 03.00 hours

 

don't look like silver to me.....

 

On Photo 2: There is another marks at 07.00 hours.

I don't see marks if there are some, too much tarnish. It looks like basic silver plate to me from what I can see. Something like this by Rogers. Is it being sold as sterling?

I've never seen one with that sort of decoration that was anything but 1950s/1960s silverplate. Not that it couldn't happen, but I've never seen one. The mottled tarnish looks like someone had it wrapped in plastic wrap.

 

Agree. Likely to be heavy (but not silver.)

That's the problem, no information comes with it. No material, not even dimensions or weight. I can ask, but wanted to get opinions before I did so.

 

The seller refers to it as "silverware".

 

It's silver plate as already mentioned. I see no recognizable silver marks in any area you pointed out. Can we see a picture of the back of the tray?

 

Sadly not, I don't have one, and France is now asleep. Will try tomorrow.

 

looks like el cheapo pressed silverplate to me - pass.

 

I DO see two areas of interest, but sadly, there’s just too much
Tarnish on it to go any further.......
