So the booklet is the (not sure I have the wording in the right order but the images will correct, if not).....Avant 1914-Apres 1918 REIMS....there are 19 postcards in all (if I counted correctly) with tissue between MOST of them.....if you want/need more inside images....holler!!!! If more than one wants them I'll spin something or other!!! Free postage!! BTW, the cover holding them in is pretty tender!! If it's OK, I'll draw on WEDNESDAY, 14th, Valentines Day....around 3:00PM!!
Mine too. Those look cool. My grandfather was in the area during WWI; I don't know if he ever was in Reims.
The cathedral is magnificent, and it's a tribute to the builders that it still stands. When you look at the columns on the inside, you can see the pockmark tracing of machine gun fire. The rose windows contain glass from the late 13th and 14th C, though there's not a lot of it that has survived and restoration has been extensive. At the back of the cathedral there are large windows designed by Marc Chagal and installed in 1974.
