Desk info

    Looking for any info on make and age of this desk. Photos can be seen in furniture gallery by oldstuff22 username. tia

    What a lovely piece! Im guessing 1820,and the bun feet look added to me. Is that the original bracket foot I see ? The finish looks original as well. Where is this ? It might be earlier than I thought.

    NJ but may have been originally from NY or New England.

    That would be known as a Bureau here.
    It looks like it has been stained, whoever did it missed the back of the compartments.

    Hinge, lock, and drawer joinery close-ups may be helpful.

    Would think an early to mid 19th century date to be correct. Wood is mahogany. Any signs this once had a top?
