Thanks again Peggy - really appreciate the ID help - and thanks to TallCakes too! I think the 5 piece water goblet is definitely the Imperial Provincial Blown. The other two - I'm not so sure - they are a different glass altogether than the provincial - I think they are true opaline (they flash shades of red/pink when backlit, and are almost semi-transparent) whereas the provincial is milk glass and is opaque - and shows no color other than the milky blue.

Oh yes, I remember it well. Wonder what auditions were like for the Monokini photo shoot?

And let us not forget the Mankini:

The swim outfits have brought back a memory of when I was Queen Of The Sea!! .. Circa 1961-62. I was 17yrs old at the time, innocent as all get out, and a beach get-together had been planned by a bunch of friends, boys and girls. I decided on a new swim suit for the occasion and chose a lovely white job that fit me perfectly. The day of the beach travesty we were all hyped up .. I had my swim suit on under my clothes and we all pranced around in the sand tossing a beach ball back and forth. It was then decided on the Swim !! I removed my shorts and top and stood there Preening, Oh my gosh I thought I looked GREAT!! Queen of the Sea I was as we raced towards the ocean. We laughed and cavorted in the water, but it was ice cold so we decided to leave and have our picnic back at the beach. With laughter and merriment we raced from the water but there was dead silence behind me .. they were all staring. I looked down and my WHOLE BODY was on view for the populace !! the blasted swim suit was absolutely see-through when wet !! The Queen of The Sea was practically NAKED !! I sank to the sand and proceeded to bawl my head off, snot and tears everywhere. One of the guys ran back and grabbed some of the towels and I sat back at the picnic spot sniveling with shame .. I just wanted to go home. Mind you the boys made a great fuss of me,I was quite popular in fact, but Oh .. I just wanted to go home :( ... Joy.

Oh, Joy, I feel for you!

MY teen-aged bad beach moment involved water skiing and a bikini top. Enough said.

    Hi Joy,
When we moved into the new house, I was in the basement. The basement door was in the dining room. My wife had several new friends over for coffee. There were a dozen people sitting around drinking while I worked in the basement. It was hot and I was wearing just shorts. Suddenly a three inch long millipede ran up my leg into my shorts. I have this terrible dread of spiders. With a loud scream, I tore off my shorts and underwear and flew up the cellar stairs into the dining room stark naked still screaming into the dining room with everyone watching this naked man running through the room. My wife calming saying to the crowd its only my husband. Great way to meet the neighbors.
