Actually, it might be Porthmadog Pottery. Maltese Cross, M and a diamond shape is what's worth googling on.

Can't find a match for Porthmadog but that could be me

 

I had to look up conversions. 4cm is about 1.57 inches

 

(I usually do both, don't know why I didn't...I prefer inches actually as they're less messy)
It's 3 and a half inches across,2 down and one and a half across the bottom

 

A proper cup for Japanese tea doesn't have a handle. It sounds about the right size. It wouldn't do as a coffee cup for me either; I'm more of a pot and a straw kinda gal.

 

I can bathe in my coffee cup !!!
