    I couldn't quite figure it out either. Smith might be the publisher and Holden the artist. I didn't do a lot of research on these since they really don't bring all that much despite being 185 years old and very well executed. The second one has an incredible amount of hand work in the blossom with lots of layering of paint. Not just your typical aquatint.

    Found this same exact vase for less than $20 (not my image)...

    Found this engraved monogram mark (and others marks) on base...

    Found this and it helped identify the designer :D...

    Your second one is in the bottom row of this page, so is definitely from Paxton's Magazine: http://www.darvillsrareprints.com/Paxtonhome.htm

    I went through all of the screens and didn't see the other one. So either this site is not complete or your first picture is from some other source, Perhaps?

    Good find there. Prices on that site are much higher than you can get on ebay for such prints. I priced mine at $35.00 each in the store and will be happy to get that if can. I am not sure the locals appreciate such things all that much. certain types of things tend to languish in the store.

    The other one is definitely from a different source as stated in my original post. I just could not remember enough about it to recall which one while I was browsing the ebay listings.

    Could've paid $5, but offered $20. Wonder what that sixteen-petal chrysanthemum represents? ;):D...

    Thanks all_fakes.

    Yup! :D

    But for those who don't know... when you see that standalone symbol on a Japanese item such as the antique silver vase above, it means the artist and/or maker was honored as a 'Teishitsu gigeiin' (Imperial Household Artist).

    For me as a re-seller, that means $$$! About 10x, 20x, 30x 40x 50x more (depending on the artist) of what a standard run-of-the-mill antique Japanese silver vase would sell for of the same period, size, style, shape and form.

    Most of you know that I know next to nothing when it comes to glassware. So would this item be considered antique 'Moser' glass?

    Only if made by the Moser factory. No clue who made this.

    @'Nuff_Said

    Is there any markings on the bottom? (Numbers Letters)

    That foot should make it easier to ID (I am not familiar at all with it)

    I'll do some poking around and see if it stands out anywhere.

    Also, what are the dimensions?

    And a pic of the bottom (Marked or not)

    I think it had a lid too. Dollars to donuts it was part of a dressing table set.

    The local store has a package of four plain donuts for $4.29

    I am afraid we will shortly outlive our idioms

    AWESOME on the buckle!
    Sure would love to run my detector coil over one of THEM! 'Course that's not likely here in Jersey. Guess I'll just have to settle for the Washington inaugural button....when I find it.

    Thank you. There are no markings whatsoever. Size is approx. 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches. It appears hand-blown (pontil? mark and grinding/polishing on base) and the glass is quite thin. Where the larger "jewels" sit, the glass has been hand-cut into and each jewel applied as seen in the second image.

    @Eve, I too believe a lid once sat atop this piece.

    @Adrian, nice score! Congrats!

    @Fig, thank you!

    A little large for a powder or dresser set. Probably a Candy.
