I picked it up and put it in my basket just because I liked it, that selling price was a complete surprise for a non-vintage set.
I’ve long been a cup and saucer collector and I was aware of some vintage and antique tea leaf reading sets that brought good money. I’m very surprised to find out what this particular set achieved considering that it’s not really even vintage. On the bottom of the saucer there is even a (defunct) dot com address LOL.

Probably got a dot.bomb dropped on it in 2001 or whatever it was, the year the boom went bust. Odds are people are putting them back into service, tea leaves being about as accurate as anything else these days!

Also, generally if there is no Fenton mark it is pre 1970s when they used a sticker that is almost always lost. Not a lot of help but if gives you some idea.

Wonderful information. I very much appreciate it. Most of the Fenton, I've found is newer.

Found this in my cupboard (so not a recent find) but reminded me of the Napco Christmas set with original box @cxgirl just posted.

Marie. You are terrific!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for looking this up. I can see now this is the size of cigarettes. I just assumed candy. So great to know the right time frame too. Thank you again.

You can still use it for candy unless you live in one of those states where it is legal & then you can store your "special cigarettes" in it. ;) :playful::playful::playful::playful: :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Found - four boxes of small vintage ornaments, including a Shiny-bright ornament. Headed straight to an antiques dealer. I am so NOT shipping those!

I agree. I sell antique and vintage glassware and a lot of what I sell are sets of glasses. Vintage and antique water stems used to be 8 or 9 ounces. Wines, depending on when they were made, would have been 4 to 6 ounces, too small for today's wine drinkers. So the old wines I sell for cocktails or sherry etc. and the water glasses for wine. It doesn't matter what they were originally made for, I tell my buyers use them for whatever you want :)

Excellent suggestion. I wondered about that when I see all the glassware I see in all shapes and sizes.

Yep! This link is general, it doesn't take into account how sizes have changed over the last 150 years ;)
