I use polymer now & again for dolly related stuffs,I really don't think it's clay or miliput or really anything ceramic or clayey, feels nothing like it,and really doesn't look like it in hand...but I s'pose it's one of those things that I'll never know x
Many thanks everyone, if I ever find out if it is or not I'll let you all know x

Too bad none of us can also use the tactile clues available to you. We might come up with some other ideas. The day's still young.

They could be "Peacock Pearls" which are dyed freshwater pearls from Asia. Very pretty colors!

(I am au fait with many types of clay, really don't think it's that)
I first thought was glass, but was a bit too cold and heavy for glass...then I saw the shiny underneath!
I have no idea why someone would go to all this trouble though, such an odd thing xx

They look like a cross between freshwater pearls and candy jade.(LOL) Candy jade is better termed random dyed rock; they look like someone took whatever they use to make those cheap Chinese freshwater pearls and coated them in a funky resin instead of putting them in some poor oyster. If the base is shell, and it often is, that would account for the weight.

Low quality pearls that have been dyed. Odd shapes, ripples. Bet they have a little grit when you rub your teeth over them.
    From China.

This one was dyed after the damage, you can see the layers of nacre.

I can see why you think they are pearls, they aren't though... I did the grit test when pearls were first mentioned...they are a very very hard, and cold substance...deffo not pearls x

    I do think so too!

A droplet of vinegar on the damaged one near the hole will tell.
Acetic acid will cause calcium carbonate of the pearl to effervesce:):bookworm:

With such layers of dying coating, I doubt they feel gritty ;)

Even though they look metally and shiny under, I am tending to believe that must be what they are(pearls) ..they are nothing else, they look like nothing else x x
    Thanks everyone <3 x

Think I may just need new teefs. I am sure it's the pearly thing now, just looks like them and has to be something! Metal under all that kerap does not make any sense! x
