I'm Trying to research four Topographical Watercolours from the early 19th century scenes of Rouen, Rennes, and two more scenes, I've opened up the frames in the hope there might be some info on the back of watercolours, alas wishful thinking.
All have the same monogram that is very hard to decipher GT? ET? CF? GF? Etc, Any help with this would be appreciated, Regards Steve

Interesting. I always thought topographical was exclusive to maps.

I'm seeing lower case t and upper case F in two of them, but in one, the cross line doesn't go through the second letter, so is it really an F?

I would guess "CT" but that does not resolve / explain the horizontal line through it, so it could be a "CF". These are quite nice and do appear to be painted by the same artist.

I don't know who it was, but it's amazing work. Soft, yet detailed. Love them.

Those are beautiful. I think it might be a highly stylized F.
