Sharing a cameo from my stash, one of only a couple that are coral. It is hard to tell from the pictures, but the setting is tri color gold (rose gold flowers, green gold leaves on a yellow gold frame. The carving is quite deep, making it very sculptural. Here is a pic of the back.

 

I bought this one because she has teeth, eyelashes and a cute short coif that reminds me of the 1930s.

 

My best coral cameo is her boss. Will have to try to get a better photo than the one I have & share him.

 

I'm ambivalent about teeth. Your girl's not creepy, the way some of the toothy ones are.

 

This one's the best of my small stash of coral pieces.

You can tell in the photos that the mount for mine is in total shambles; I think someone had his brother-in-law do the work. It was meant to be similar to yours, with Dionysus wreathed in grape vine. Now there are mostly solder marks & a few leaves, a bit of vine. The tiny seed pearls immediately surrounding the cameo are intact & the cameo itself was too good to pass up.

 

The coral cameos are gorgeous, an affordable one is my holy grail!

 

My cameo gal has flowers in her hair, not grape leaves. I love yours. Too bad about the frame.

 

It's funny what draws us to a cameo. I don't usually like teeth, but I liked her.

 

So she does. I'm used to seeing bacchantes in that coy pose.

Meanwhile, although unmounted, I got this one.. but it needs some fixing..

 

Filippo Tignani. It's rectangular & set in a largish ring.

 

Wavy tresses, trailing flowers, even a scalloped border on the robe. This guy loved curves. As is so often the case with cameos like this (the 5 dollar word is 'jugate'). the figure in the background got comparatively shorted on features. You see it all the time when it's some hero in the foreground & an anonymous generic female behind him.

 

'Fixing' as in repair? Or as in needs to be mounted? It's a shame gold has become so impossibly expensive.
