Hi all picked this up today 4 bucks sweet. Question is how old are these. Have found a few online but don't seem as detailed as this anyone know of they were all made similarly or are there possibly different ones at all.
I don't know about age; think it will help all of us to see the back as well. Was getting dizzy going back & forth trying to compare. Taken from this painting by Jan Matejka?
Hmm. Afraid I'm not any wiser. Perhaps it will be of help to someone else. To my less than expert eyes, metal does not appear to be brass or copper. Bronze is my best guess. This is not something just anyone would hang in their home. Are there many people of Polish heritage where you live? Suspect it was made there or that part of the world.
Don't know why I do research when I could just consult etsy. This seller does have it as copper. Theirs has an explanatory label on the back in both Polish & English, supporting my notion that it is Polish in origin.
Thanks Bronwen I only got the ones from eBay up on my search should start going to etsy from the start that one looks closer to mine and he says it's from the forties so would have to go by that I suppose thanks for your efforts youve been stellar tonight

I found quite a few of these by searching "Grunwald 1410 copper" but was not able to find any significant information.
What search engine do you use? Pretty sure I ran that same search with little or no result, The only one like it I found was on etsy, shown above. The little gods of Google must like you or something.
