    24174675_10214769775059878_5560192855496827606_n.jpg Hi,

I'm new to the forum and I've recently been doing some restoration work (as a newbie) and repurposing/saving old items I'm finding in rural North Dakota.

I just purchased this lab bench and was hoping someone could date and tell me the manufacturer? It looks a lot like a Sheldon lab bench but I'm not certain nor am I certain on the time period. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Good job! :)
Now we need to see the front corner of an open drawer, an open door and hinge, the back and any marks or labels even if partial.

Welcome Laura. What a great piece. What are you planning to do in your restoration? Will you keep it? Now, as someone who is probably about the same age as the bench, about that word 'antique'...

Thanks! Yes I'm definitely keeping it. I was planning on turning it into a kitchen island by adding some wood blocks to the base. Adding some hardware to the chair openings for a mixer lift and hardware for a sliding trash can. Then I was going to firm up the pullout writing boards to make more work space/an area to place a cutting board.

I have a Biology degree so this is close to my heart.

Excellent! Living in an apartment, I soo envy anyone who has decent work space. Wouldn't mind having the degree in biology either.

Thanks, yes it took me a long time to get this kind of opportunity. Much less have the tools at my disposal to repair things. So now it's amazing all these wonderful finds I am finding in North Dakota.

How are you finding the weather?

Hah, I've been here since 2013 and I'm from Texas. It was an adjustment but winter in North Dakota is pretty unforgiving.

I think that piece is great and your idea for a kitchen island is super.
Very envious of your talent and your degree.

Oy, Biology, just made it through that course. Not my forte.
